Visual Itinerary
We pick you up from your Hotel at about 6:00am and drive along the Mombasa – Diani highway towards Kwale town to Shimba Hills National Reserve. Upon arrival at the parks main gate, we begin your game drive searching for the few shy animals such as forest elephants, sable antelopes, buffalo, warthogs, impala, baboons and other types of animals and birds. Unlike other the national parks, shimba hills is more densely covered by forest so is more of a scenic safari than a wildlife safari, consider spotting the hidden wildlife as a plus.
At about 10.00am we stop at a look out point where we join a ranger for a bush walk to the Sheldrick Waterfalls, its quite a long and interesting hike so a good pair of walking shoes is recommended, you can also take a dip under the falls so do remember to bring a towel and a change of clothes. After a few minutes enjoying the waterfalls, you walk back uphill to the vehicle and continue the game drive drive until you reach the main gate. We then exit the park and proceed for lunch and rest at Shimba Hills Green Safari Lodge or similar.
After lunch, enjoy the views and swimming pool at the lodge and later in the afternoon we drive back to your beach hotel arriving in the evening.
