As you adventure over the savannah, past the Mara’s distinctive acacia trees, you’ll be on the lookout for Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.
And, if you’re here during the season of the Great Migration (July – October) you’ll be treated to a virtual river of wildlife flowing into the reserve. Thousands and tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle flood in from the Serengeti, creating the largest movement of animals on earth. To fully appreciate the Mara experience, you can partake in an optional visit to a local Maasai village where you’ll get to meet these indigenous people and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Overnight shall be at your Masai Mara safari lodge / tented camp.
There is nothing like the dawn with its golden light breaking over the Mara. We’ll take advantage of this magic hour for an early game drive, traversing the brightening fields, looking for wildlife emerging from the tall grass.
